What is this about?
We all know there is a problem in our society.
It's not just global warming, its not just environental degradation, its not just the end of the fossil fuel economy or the end of "post-war capitalism"......
Actually, apart from all these life-threatening problems, our main problem in the western hemisphere today is the "illness" we all suffer, and that is acute lonliness and loss of human society and our human context in the natural world. Somehow, we have lost control of the "quality" of our lives. We lack the ability to control or influence our own destiny and our own personal environment, and we have little or no contact with our natural environment, where we could traditionally find some solice.
We have simultaneously lost our empathy for our fellow human beings and with the "weak of the world", but we seem, also, to have lost our connection and inherent sympathy for the natural environment .
We have allowed ourselves to become the "self-seeking" automatons of a system that has no place for family, community, social conscience, or the natural world. We are instead driven by an irrational desire for material wealth which is, strangely, contiguos with the profit motives and strategies of the Western banking system.
And so here we find ouselves, trapped between poverty and capitalism.
What can be worse than to be as impotent and alone as many in our Western society are? We seem to be descending into a hell of self-interest, introversion and guilt.
What choices do we have?
This web site is an attempt to answer those millions of us, who are asking the same question....
"What can I do about it?"
Our answer is this: There is a Way! Read on! We are also "sinners" so don't imagine that we are the disciples of everything in this book. We all make compromises all the time, BUT this book is an attempt to inform the world what should be done..... in realty we can't always do what we should do all the time........ but its a hell of a start to try to!
Now, its time to get on with it ...
Your life, your responsibility, your future....Our planet!
We, in the Western world, are all personally responsible for how we live, every day, whether its cleaning materials, transport or social conscience, etc etc.
If we mess up the planet, its our fault and that applies to all of us, including you.
Can we fix this?
Well, if we can fix our mentalities and our lifestyle, then we have some chance of survival on the planet....
On the other hand if we don't fix OUR problem, as a species, to live quietly on this planet, this planet is going to FIX us..... permanently! In 2 million years, the industrial revolution and the last few generations will be just 1 cm of dust, a metre underground. Is this our legacy?
Yes. Together, we can fix this... with a little effort and a lot of responsibility!
We should never forget that a small effort by many is a more powerful force than a great effort by one. Solidarity and collaberation is the key to human survival..... nothing else. Ask the ants!"
This is a time for human solidarity in a jungle of human division. The real question is whether we have the intellect and ability to cooperate to defeat our barbaric instincts for laziness, division, and destruction. Can we move beyond our terminally "short-term" view of the world to a sustainable, peaceful future?
